The former Lamb Pub and Hotel, a Grade II listed building in Preston, required extensive exterior restoration. Overlooked for years, the building had not seen significant maintenance since its closure in 2000. Known for its historical significance and vibrant past, including hosting famous bands and being owned by notable individuals, the property needed extensive exterior restoration works. Spectrum Specialist Support completed a nine-week restoration project for a six-block residential property in Hammersmith, overcoming challenges posed by its riverside location and dense greenery. The team performed timber window repairs, metal balcony restoration, repointing with colour-matched lime mortar, and careful ivy trimming while addressing residents' concerns and minimising disruption.

Creative access solutions, including abseiling and MEWPs, avoided scaffolding and kept costs manageable. The project preserved the building’s character and ensured structural health through durable repairs and precision restoration techniques. Spectrum's unique rope access method enabled swift, safe, and scaffold-free chimney repointing over 12 days at a property near Kings Cross, London. By employing IRATA certified abseilers who are also experts in brickwork, the company successfully restored two 100-year-old chimneys facing adjacent buildings. This scaffold-free approach not only minimised disruption but also preserved the aesthetics and structural integrity of the chimneys using breathable lime mortar, completing additional voluntary repairs to enhance client satisfaction.

Spectrum was contracted to repair and restore brickwork for a private London client who sought to avoid the additional expense of scaffolding. Utilising rope access methods, the team replaced degraded mortar with breathable lime mortar, matched the colour of existing bricks, and reinforced the structure with stainless steel bars.
